Date: June 8, 2016 9:45 AM EDT
Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that Ultimate Software has been named to Glassdoor’s “Highest-Rated CEOs” list for 2016. Glassdoor, a jobs and careers marketplace, released its annual report highlighting the top executives; recognizing leaders in countries throughout North America and parts of Europe.
Among CEOs recognized at U.S. large companies, Ultimate’s CEO, Scott Scherr, was ranked #2 and received a 99% approval rating based on the anonymous and voluntary reviews Ultimate Software employees shared on Glassdoor throughout the past year. Other companies on the 2016 list included Google, Nike, Facebook, Apple, LinkedIn, and Johnson & Johnson.
“Our CEO has made Ultimate’s ‘People First’ culture his top priority, and we are so grateful that our employees see that focus on culture come through,” said Vivian Maza, chief people officer at Ultimate Software. “This recognition from Glassdoor is significant to us because it means that our employees believe we ‘walk the talk’—and there is nothing that’s more important to us than our employees’ experience working here. We will always stand by our guiding principle that the most important component of business success is putting your employees first—and we are humbled by our employees’ show of support.”
“The Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards honor CEOs that stand out for having gained the support and approval of their workforce—no easy task for any leader,” said Robert Hohman, Glassdoor CEO and co-founder. “I am proud to expand these awards to new markets as incredible leaders are found around the world and are not limited by boundaries or borders. I congratulate all of the winners on this significant achievement.”
CEO approval ratings are gathered through Glassdoor’s online company review survey, which seeks to gain current and former employee sentiment about job and company satisfaction, the work environment, and the culture. Employees are asked to rate a number of workplace factors such as compensation and benefits, as well as work-life balance, and asked whether they approve or disapprove of the way their CEO is leading the company. In addition, employees are asked to describe some of the upsides and downsides of working for the company and provide any advice for senior management.
