Ultimate Software Ranks #5 on Fortune’s Best Workplaces for Diversity List for 2018

Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that it ranks #5 on this year’s Best Workplaces for Diversity list by Fortune and Great Place to Work. The ranking considers feedback from employees surveyed at organizations across the United States, analyzing the daily workplace experiences of women, people of color, LGBTQ people, Baby Boomers and older generations, and people with disabilities.

Ultimate has long included diversity and inclusion training as part of its leadership-development program, LeadUS, for current and potential managers. Course curricula includes workshops on creating environments of safety and trust, recognizing and avoiding unconscious biases in the workplace, and embracing creative differences to drive innovation. As part of the company’s “New Hire Ultimization” orientation, all employees also receive training in Whole Brain Thinking and learn how to have productive, “Fierce Conversations” that respect individuals’ diverse ways of thinking and processing information.

To further promote and ensure a workplace culture of inclusivity, equality, and acceptance of all people, Ultimate encourages employee participation in companywide Communities of Interest. There are four, diverse groups: PRIDEUS for LGBTQIA individuals; Women in Leadership for women at all levels of the organization; UltiVETS for veterans and active service members; and UltiHOPE, which provides a support network for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. Because Ultimate’s Communities of Interest are intended to be inclusive, “allies” are welcome to join any Community of Interest they choose to support and advocate. In determining Fortune’s Best Workplaces for Diversity list for 2018, Great Place to Work based its rankings on a data-driven methodology applied to anonymous Trust Index survey responses representing more than 4.4 million employees at Great Place to Work-Certified organizations nationwide. The surveys evaluated over 60 elements of employees’ experiences on the job, covering such topics as professional development, behaviors linked to innovation, confidence in leadership, and consistent treatment among employees of different backgrounds.
